This adventurous one-day tour takes you to the South coast with an added and exciting glacier hike at Sólheimajökull glacier. The day starts off with a visit to one of Iceland’s loveliest waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss. Here the sure-footed can walk behind the thundering cascade but be careful as the trail is narrow and a bit slippery. Extra caution is especially needed during the winter and good footwear is recommended. This is one of the most photographed places in Iceland and for good reason. During the winter, the waterfall is lit up so you can enjoy its magic all year round. The next stop is at one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland, the impressive Skógafoss. It brings water from the 2 glaciers surrounding it, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Due to the amount of spray rainbows are usually visible on sunny days but the spray means you’re likely to get wet if you get up close. But you should definitely take those extra steps as it’s quite empowering standing close to it. The Skógafoss area is also the starting point for those that wish to hike over Fimmvörðuháls over to Þórsmörk, one of the most popular hiking routes in Iceland. Finally, we go to Sólheimajökull where you will have the opportunity to have a unique glacier hike on this magnificent glacier with its blue ice formations and ever-changing ancient frozen water world. You will be accompanied by an expert glacier guide and we will provide you with all the tools you need: crampons, ice axes, and helmets to make sure you are safe on this ice adventure.
