What do I need to bring?

  • Warm, water- and windproof clothing are always useful in Iceland.
  • Good, sturdy shoes so you can enjoy walking around at the various sights.
  • All tickets are e-tickets so there is no need to print them out.

Know before you go

  • You will be collected for your Golden Circle tour from your accommodation, designated Tour Bus Stops or from our free pick-up location. This is dependent upon what option you selected when booking.
  • Free drop-off at FlyOver Iceland is included.
  • After the FlyOver show you must make your own way to your accommodation. FlyOver Iceland is centrally location in Reykjavik and surrounded by many restaurants, cafes and bars. 

Itinerary

Day 1: Start of the Tour at 10-11 Kringlan

Pick-up from accommodation and special Tour Bus Stops in central Reykjavik. Then the buses meet at Kringlan and the tour departs from there.

Day 1: 1. Stop at Hveragerði 15 minutes

This stop is for a short break so passengers can use the bathroom facilities and buy refreshments for their journey, if needed.

Day 1: 2. Stop at Kerið Volcanic Crater 20 minutes

Kerið is a striking crater-lake filled with milky blue-green water amid stark black and deep red slopes. Geologists now believe it to be a collapsed magma chamber at the end of a volcanic eruption that occurred more than 6,000 years ago

Day 1: 3. Stop at Gullfoss Waterfall 40 minutes

The iconic waterfall of Gullfoss, or Golden Falls, is only a 7 minutes’ drive from Geysir – located in the glacial river Hvítá. It's elegant and majestic form is like no other, where the torrential river water plummets in two steps down into a 32 meters deep canyon.

Day 1: 4. Stop at Geysir 80 minutes

In the Geysir geothermal area we get the chance to observe the boiling hot spring Strokkur spout steaming water up to 30 meters into the air every 8 minutes.

This stop is also amed to buy lunch.

Day 1: 5. Stop at Þingvellir 45 minutes

Þingvellir National Park is not only a site of geological wonder, located at the intersection of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates but also a place charged with history, as the site of the national parliament since 930. Þingvellir tells stories of geographical and political struggles, compromises and ongoing evolution. Þingvellir was accepted on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its cultural values in 2004.

People will be left from the bus down near the silfra center and collected upstairs at the Hakið parking lot.
