Itinerary

Day 1: Whale Fjord Adventure

Pickup

Depart from Reykjavik in the morning with your guide for a scenic drive around the Whale Fjord (Hvalfjord)

Hvalfjörður Fjord View

Driving along the fjord offers incredible views of mountains, coastal cliffs, and tranquil waters. Along the shoreline, you can find secluded spots to picnic or hike, all with beautiful panoramic views. The fjord is long and deep, with fewer visitors than other areas, making it a peaceful escape.

The Botnsdalur Valley

This valley at the end of Hvalfjörður is a haven of beauty with green meadows, rivers, and mountain peaks. It’s a great place for hiking and exploring Icelandic flora and fauna. Botnsdalur Valley also serves as the starting point for the Glymur waterfall hike and offers a serene landscape of its own.

Glymur Waterfall

At 198 meters, Glymur is Iceland’s second-tallest waterfall and is a breathtaking sight tucked away in Hvalfjörður. The hike to reach it is rewarding, with panoramic views of the fjord, a scenic river, and a narrow canyon. The trail takes you through caves and over rivers, offering an immersive experience of Icelandic nature.

The Wine School by the Lake

Unwind at the Wine School by the Lake, where you can indulge in international priced wines and beverages beneath the enchanting Midnight Sun or Northern Lights.

Access to eight geothermal pools, each with its own unique temperature, sourced directly from the fjord’s geothermal waters. Relax in the warm pools with breathtaking views of the fjord, or dip into the cold Atlantic waters for an invigorating contrast.

Lunch at Local Bistro

Enjoy local Icelandic cuisine at the on-site bistro, where fresh, seasonal ingredients meet coastal-inspired flavors.

Meet the Locals at a Farm

Bjarteyjarsandur Family Farm offers year-round seasonal farm visits, local food, and guided tours, with accommodation options ranging from a cozy campsite to mountain cottages.
