What do I need to bring?

  • Warm layers, waterproof jacket and pants, hats and gloves and comfortable footwear suitable for uneven terrain and walking short distances. 
  • Drinks and snacks.

  • Guests should bring their snacks with them if desired.
  • The length of each day and the order in which you visit these attractions can vary depending on weather and road conditions.
  • Photo packages may sometimes take more or less than 14 days to edit. This is just our average turnaround time.
  • IPJ Editor selects and edits the photo package based on what we feel are the best shots from the day. If additional photos are available outside of the package count they may be available for 1,000 ISK per but not guaranteed.
  • Be aware that if there is a request to have specific photos from the day, advance notice via email is required before the editing process begins.

Itinerary

Day 1: Mink Viking Photo Shoot

Our first stop is the Mink Viking Portrait Studio, where you'll have the opportunity to set the foundation of your Viking experience.  You will also dress up in authentic Viking attire and pose for portraits that capture the essence of these legendary warriors.  Whether you choose to don a fearsome helmet or some other traditional Viking garb, our professional photographer will ensure you look the part as you channel your inner Norse hero.

Day 1: The Viking Longhouse of Erik the Red

Continue to Eiríksstaðir, a reconstructed Viking farmstead that was once the home of the renowned Viking Erik the Red and his son, Leif Eriksson (Leif the Lucky). Here, gain an in-depth look at the craftsmanship, survival skills, and exploration spirit of these pioneering Vikings who set off for Greenland and Vinland. Step into a replica Viking longhouse and experience the living conditions, tools, and agricultural techniques used by Iceland’s early settlers.

Day 1: Viking Lunch

Experience an unforgettable Viking Lunch near the historic Eric the Red Farmstead, where you can enjoy traditional Icelandic cuisine cooked over an open flame. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, this unique culinary adventure offers a taste of Viking history, complete with hearty dishes and a true sense of ancient Icelandic hospitality.

Day 1: Hraunfossar and Barnafoss Waterfalls

Barnafoss and Hraunfossar are stunning waterfalls in West Iceland, steeped in Viking legends and Icelandic sagas. Hraunfossar features gentle cascades streaming through lava fields, while Barnafoss flows rapidly through a narrow, rocky gorge, said to be haunted by a tragic tale of two children who fell into its waters.  







Day 1: Snorri Sturluson Museum

End your day in the legendary village of Reykholt, the birthplace of Snorri Sturluson—one of Iceland’s most influential historical figures. Step into the Snorri Sturluson Museum, where the echoes of Viking sagas come alive.
