Itinerary

Day 1: Landmannalaugar Super Jeep Tour

Buckle up and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Join us on a trip to Landmannalaugar, where you'll ride in style in a super-jeep designed with your comfort in mind. This is no ordinary sightseeing tour.

We'll pick you up bright and early at 8:30 am from your Reykjavík accommodation or a prearranged meeting point, and then it's off to Landmannalaugar we go! This incredible natural wonder is part of the Fjallabak Nature Reserve and is one of the most beloved outdoor recreational areas in Iceland. With its active geothermal area nestled in a valley between tall rhyolite mountains boasting a range of colors from pink to green, Landmannalaugar will leave you in awe.

Our first stop en route to Landmannalaugar is the dramatic Þjórsárdalur Valley, where we'll make a pit stop at a local mini-market to grab some lunch for later in the day. From there, we'll head up the valley for 19 km to admire the mighty Hjálparfoss waterfalls cascading into a serene pool.

But the adventure doesn't stop there! We'll also make a stop at Ljótipollur, a stunning volcanic crater created by an eruption in 1477, which is now filled with a mesmerizing cobalt blue lake. After that, we'll head over to Frostastaðavatn, a wide and beautiful lake with a stunning turquoise color.

Once we arrive in Landmannalaugar, most visitors choose to take a dip in the natural geothermal pool and take a short hike around Laugahraun, an Obsidian and rhyolite lava field. These are by far the two best ways to make the most of your day tour in Landmannalaugar.

As the day winds down, we'll take the Dómadalur route back to Reykjavík, which takes you to Mount Hekla, Iceland's most active volcano. That's right - we'll even drive on the actual volcano! Hekla has erupted regularly over the years, and it last went off in 2000.

With so many incredible experiences packed into one day, we guarantee that your memories of this trip will last a lifetime. So, what are you waiting for? Jump aboard the Super Jeep tour to Landmannalaugar and get ready for an adventure you'll never forget. Check availability by choosing a date.
