Jump aboard, for this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Landmannalaugar. Taken in a super-jeep, designed with your comfort in mind, this excursion promises to be as intimate as it will be exhilarating. We offer this as a small group tour and it can be booked as a private tour, we focus on making it the best experience with 8 passengers per car but if your group is larger please get in touch with us and we can arrange multiple cars for your group.

We pick up in Reykjavik and the South coast of Iceland and drive towards Hekla where we stop in roots of Iceland’s most active volcano, then we drive Landmannalaugar or Dómadagsleið to Landmannalaugar where we stop for 3 hours, there is anything hiking option for all skill levels available but the usually hike is 4.5 km and takes 2 hours that gives plenty of time to take a dip in the natural geothermal pool there. 

Driving back Sigölduleið we stop at Hnausapollur a large volcanic crater with coast blue water inside, next stop is the infamous Sigöldugljúfur, then Sigöldufoss and Hjálparfoss before heading back to Reykjavik.

Day 1: Landmannalaugar Super Jeep Tour

Jump aboard, for this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Landmannalaugar, Taken in a super-jeep, designed with your comfort in mind, and with a maximum of six persons, this excursion promises to be as intimate as it will be exhilarating.

You will be picked up from your Reykjavík accommodation, or a prearranged meeting point, for an 8.30 am departure, before heading straight out on your sightseeing adventure.

Landmannalaugar is a part of Fjallabak Nature Reserve and is one of the most beloved outdoor recreational areas in Iceland. 
It is an active geothermal area in a valley between tall rhyolite 
mountains displaying amazing colours ranging from pink to green. Landmannalaugar’s famous natural pool nestles under 
the Laugahraun lava field dating back to 1477. The natural pool attracts hikers and day visitors. Landmannalaugar is a popular tourist attraction and a hub for the famous Laugavegur hike between Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk and 
Skógar. This otherworldly place in the Icelandic wilderness is only about 4 hours drive from Reykjavík 
En route to Landmannalaugar, you will make several stops.
The first is at the dramatic Þjórsárdalur Valley where we stop first in a local mini market to stretch our feet and grab a food for lunch later in the day,
next we will drive 19 km up the valley where you will admire the mighty Hjálparfoss waterfalls cascading beside each other into a serene pool.  
Following Hjálparfoss, you will head up the highland bridge to the magical Háifoss a stunning 122 meter high waterfall with a view that is one of the best Iceland has to offer 
next stop will be at Ljótipollur a volcanic crater who was created by an eruption in 1477. It is now filled with a cobalt blue lake, making it a favourite location amongst photographers. 
Next, you will see another lake, Frostastaðavatn, which is wide, beautiful, and coloured a stunning turquoise. 

In Landmannalaugar most of our visitors choose to go to the natural geo thermal pool and take a short hike around Laugahraun, an Obsidian and rhyolite lava field 
these are by far the two best ways go maximize your experience of a day tour in Landmannalaugar.  

After you have enjoyed what Landmannalaugar has to offer, you will return to the Super Jeep and head back.

We will take the Dómadalur route back, which takes you to Mount Hekla Icelands most active volcano, we will drive on the actual volcano 

Hekla is one of Iceland’s most notorious volcanoes, having erupted regularly it last went off in 2000. 

After enjoying these locations, you will return to Reykjavík. You will no doubt be in awe of the many sites you have fit into this day; your memories of this trip will last for a life time.
