Nature's showstoppers

Among the stops on this journey along the South Coast are the stunning Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss, part of the Seljalandsá river originating from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, offers the unique experience of walking behind the waterfall. We highly recommend bringing a raincoat or waterproof coat for this stroll.

Skógafoss, another iconic Icelandic waterfall, marks the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls hike to Þórsmörk. This picturesque waterfall has been featured in films such as Thor: The Dark World, the popular TV show Vikings, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty adding to its allure as a must-see location.
