Our first stop is the Mink Viking Portrait Studio, where you'll have the opportunity to set the foundation of your Viking experience. You will also dress up in authentic Viking attire and pose for portraits that capture the essence of these legendary warriors. Whether you choose to don a fearsome helmet or some other traditional Viking garb, our professional photographer will ensure you look the part as you channel your inner Norse hero
Next, we venture to Thingvellir National Park, which is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic meeting place of Iceland's early settlers but also a Game of Thrones filming location! Here, amidst dramatic rugged terrain and ancient rift valleys, you'll learn about the Althing, the world's oldest parliament which was founded by Viking chieftains over a thousand years ago. Viking gatherings took place in this sacred ground and you’ll experience it up close and personal with our team capturing you as a forever keepsake!
Continuing our journey, we make our way to Bruarfoss Waterfall. Truly a hidden gem nestled within Iceland's breathtaking landscapes. Known as the "Blue Waterfall," Bruarfoss will captivate you with its crystalline turquoise waters which cascade over volcanic rocks. Marvel over this historic spot and enjoy having unforgettable portraits taken here in the untouched wilderness.
Our exploration of Viking history takes us to Hjálparfoss Waterfall, a majestic waterfall where two streams merge in unity and offer a spectacular display of nature's power. Surrounded by lava formations and lush greenery, Hjálparfoss is reminiscent of the landscapes traversed by Viking explorers centuries ago.
Following, you’ll experience the Commonwealth Farm (Þjóðveldisbærinn Stöng) or similar Icelandic turf house. Here, you’ll seriously step back in time to the Viking Age to experience life in a reconstructed Viking settlement. Experience the outside of traditional turf houses and a Viking Longhouse and have the ultimate souvenirs after as proof of this incredible journey!
To conclude our journey, we gather at Ingólfsskáli Restaurant (or similar restaurant), named after Ingólfur Arnarson, the first Viking settler of Iceland. Here, you'll savor traditional Icelandic cuisine infused with Viking flavors. Maybe even raise a horn of mead to say, “skál” in a toast to the Viking spirit and in celebration of Viking journey you just completed. If time and weather allows, you can try your hand at axe throwing or archery!
